Why am I seeing two different tax bills for trash and recycling?
There are two elements to how Palm Beach County residents are billed. One is for collection, which is picking up the waste and delivering it to the SWA. The other is disposal and recycling and all of the infrastructure that supports it. The SWA assesses for disposal, and that is on your property tax bill. In unincorporated Palm Beach County, disposal and collection are combined, but cities throughout the county bill for collection in different ways. Some cities note it on the water bill, while others combine it with other assessments. In the cities, you'll see two different billing processes for the two different services.
