Palm Beach County residents are cleaning up debris from their properties left by gusty winds experienced Wed., Sept. 28. The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County reminds unincorporated residents that per county ordinance, only 6 cubic yards of vegetation can be placed at the curb at one time per week on their scheduled collection day.
If an unincorporated resident places more than 6 cubic yards of vegetation at the curb at one time, it will not be collected and will receive an orange tag with instructions for how to address it. Options are:
- Pay your SWA contracted hauler $8/cubic yard for eligible vegetative debris to remove it
- Pay another private hauler their rate to remove it
- Haul it yourself to the SWA’s Customer Convenience Drop-off Center or one of six transfer stations and pay the disposal fee
- Make the pile a conforming pile
If an unincorporated resident has a contractor cutting their vegetative debris, they are encouraged to have removal and disposal included as part of the fee.
Note: Coconuts are not yard waste and must be placed in the SWA garbage cart for collection on either of your scheduled garbage service days.
Per county ordinance, unincorporated residents can only put 2 cubic yards of containerized (under 50 lbs. when filled) construction debris per week at the curb on their scheduled collection day. No fencing, concrete, decking or roofing is collected curbside. Options are:
- Pay your SWA contracted hauler $22/cubic yard for removal and disposal
- Pay another private hauler their rate to remove it
- Haul it yourself to the SWA’s Customer Convenience Drop-off Center or one of six transfer stations and pay the disposal fee
Residents who live within a municipal limit should contact their municipality directly for their post-storm vegetation rules.
If any resident has questions on putting vegetation debris to the curb, they are encouraged to call SWA Customer Service at 561-697-2700.
