Fantastic family festivities for America Recycles Day

What: America Recycles Day Celebration
Where: SWA Education Center, 6751 N. Jog Road in West Palm Beach
When: Saturday, Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Document shredding from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Sorry, no early birds admitted; 6 box limit)
Cost: FREE!

Celebrate America Recycles Day with garbage tours, food trucks and games! This is a party with a purpose with fantastic family festivities. See where your waste winds up and celebrate all that families can do to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rethink their waste.

Open House and Tour


Sort recyclables on the interactive touch table, see the 9-ton trash claw, experience the complex recycling processes, and witness how much garbage PBC residents actually throw AWAY!

Vendors and Food Trucks


Volcano Ice and food trucks from Roaming Hunger will be onsite along with interactive booths from Coca Cola, the Palm Beach Zoo, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, Resource Depot, the South Florida Science Center and many more!

Coloring Contest and Awards

 

Winners of the SWA's America Recycles Day Coloring Contest will be announced and awarded prizes from The Breakers Palm Beach, the Palm Beach Zoo, Fox 29 WFLX and the Rapids Water Park.

There is still time to enter!

Live DJ

 

Enjoy live music from the True Oldies Channel, who will be onsite.

Document Shredding


Palm Beach County residents can bring up to 6 boxes of personal documents for FREE shredding. The shred event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. only - No early birds will be admitted.

Food Drive and Toys for Tots

 

Participants are encouraged to drop off nonperishable food to be donated to the Palm Beach County Food Bank just in time for the holidays. They are looking for: rice and pasta and canned soups, fruits, veggies and meats. Please, no glass containers. This celebration is also a drop-off location for new toys for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.

Recycling Bins



Need recycling bins? Blue and yellow recycling bins will be distributed for FREE to Palm Beach County residents who need them.

Home Chemical Drop-Off



Palm Beach County residents can safely dispose of home chemicals for proper disposal at the Home Chemical and Recycling Center, 6161 N. Jog Road in West Palm Beach (just 1 mile south of event) from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., safeguarding our environment.

Directions

  • From the Turnpike: take Exit 107 Beeline Highway (SR 710). Make a LEFT (South) on N. Jog Road. Cross the Beeline Highway. Follow signs to the event, which will be on your right.
  • From I-95 North: take Exit 76 - Blue Heron Boulevard (SR 708) and head WEST. Cross Military Trail. Pass the VA Hospital. MERGE right onto the Beeline Highway. Make a LEFT (South) on N. Jog Road. Follow signs to the event, which will be on your right.
  • From I-95 South: take Exit 74 - 45th Street (CR 702) and head WEST. Cross Military Trail and Haverhill Road and the Turnpike overpass. Follow signs to the event, which will be on your left.
