Palm Beach County the largest county in the state of Florida and one of the fastest growing counties in the United States. The most recent census showed that there are approximately 1.5 million people living in Palm Beach County. The Authority is responsible for collection of garbage and recyclables only in the unincorporated areas of the county. Each of the county’s 39 municipalities is responsible for their own collection. However, all garbage and recyclables generated in the county make their way to the Authority for processing through one of six transfer stations.
