The Solid Waste Authority (SWA) is a community resource and thus has many community partners. We are actively involved and partner with many different community programs in Palm Beach County.

The Green Schools Recognition Program encourages cultures of sustainability within school communities. This program recognizes schools for taking a holistic approach to going green that incorporates school ground enhancement, resource conservation, curriculum connections and community involvement with a school-wide commitment and focus on sustainability.

Resource Depot the only creative reuse and environmental education center in all of South Florida, filling the need for eco-sustainable and affordable programs and materials for art, education, and the creative public.  Resource Depot’s cause promotes a lifestyle that reduces garbage going into the ground and REimagines a Palm Beach County where simplicity fosters equality and everyone feels they have plenty and plenty to share.   The robust student afterschool and summer education programs are building a generation of children who will be eco-conscious adults through early adoption of environmentally-friendly behaviors.  Join the cause - ENF (Enough) - a manifesto of social and environmental practices that shift consumer culture from convenience to respect, healing our land and water as well as our relationship to the planet.  For more information, visit www.ResourceDepot.org.

Paint Your Heart Out

Paint your Heart Out Palm Beach County is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization that offers assistance to the elderly, disabled and low-income families with children. Paint Your Heart Out paints the exterior of qualifying single family homes with the SWA’s recycled paint at no cost to the homeowner. Volunteers age 15 and older are welcome to participate. The SWA is a proud sponsor of Rebuilding Together of the Palm Beaches. Rebuilding Together of the Palm Beaches website states, "Rebuilding Together is a national nonprofit with a network of more than 200 affiliates across the United States. Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, volunteer-based organization that serves as Palm Beach County’s affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, Inc. and Keep Florida Beautiful, Inc. Its mission is to enhance the quality of life in Palm Beach County through programs and partnerships that encourage public agencies, private entities, residents and visitors to reduce litter and waste, increase recycling, beautify, maintain and sustain public spaces and inspire generations of environmental stewards. Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful’s focus areas include litter prevention, recycling and waste reduction and community greening.
